You thought I couldn’t resist you?” Reaching around her, I closed the door. “Did you think maybe I’d sweep you into my arms and kiss you senseless, like I’ve been dying to do for months?” I stepped closer and her breathing rate escalated. Even in the darkness, I could see the pulse pounding in her neck, its rhythm matching my own. The air was crackling with the intensity between us, but still I didn’t touch her, wanting to hear her answer.
The tip of her tongue darted out, wetting her red lips and I almost groaned. I should get a medal or something for being this close to her and still not closing the gap.
“A girl can only hope,” she replied, her eyes never leaving mine, and in that second I wanted to give her everything she ever wanted.
Sweeping her into my arms, I crushed my lips to hers, my tongue immediately seeking entrance and she complied, moaning as she wrapped her arms around my neck. Everything about her enveloped me—her taste, her scent, her touch—all better than I’d ever imagined, and I’d imagined a lot.
Groaning, I pushed her back against the thick wooden door, my mouth ravaging her as my hands gripped her tighter. Wicked thoughts filled my head—tantalizing images of exactly where I’d like this kiss to go. Too bad I still had a full shift of work to finish.

For those of you who don't know, I'm currently working on book #2 in The God Chronicles-Poseidon. It's coming along somewhat slow, but I have a good chunk of everything figured out already.

 

Today's Music Monday featured song is one on my playlist that I listen to while writing. I guess a little back story is warranted, haha!

 

Emma lives in Mesa, Arizona and is married to the love of her life, John. She is incredibly happy with her life and wouldn't want it any other way. Unfortunately, as happens so many times in life, disaster strikes and changes everything for her.
